Marine Trades

Includes an orientation to the trade, tools, boat handling and safety, internal combustion engine theory, marine electrical system theory, outboard engine maintenance and troubleshooting, gasoline fueled inboard engine maintenance and troubleshooting, marine electrical system installation and troubleshooting, diesel engine maintenance and troubleshooting, drive systems for inboard and outboard engines, servicing boat trailers, marine electronics equipment installation, marine plumbing systems, marine materials: wood, metal, and composites, and customer service skills. Credentials include: ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council) Marine Service Technician, Yamaha Introduction to Outboard Systems, Yamaha Marine Maintenance Certification, and access to Mercury Marine University to complete prerequisite coursework through the M-Tech platform. Each student will be issued a Yamaha and Mercury Technician I.D. number.
